Māori Vowels

There are 5 vowels in Māori - a, e, i, o and u. Each vowel can be pronounced short or long. We use a macron to indicate a long vowel - ā, ē, ī, ō, ū. Throughout this section you will hear and see examples of the Māori Vowels and words that use them. Listen and watch first, then repeat them to yourself.
