GOVERNMENT
Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori - The Māori Language Commission. The Māori Language Commission was set up under the Māori Language Act 1987 to promote the use of Māori as a living language and as an ordinary means of communication.
Mā Te Reo - Mā Te Reo is a Government funded programme established by the Minister of Māori Affairs in 2001 to support projects, programmes and activities that contribute to local level Māori language regeneration.
Korero Māori - Te Taura Whiri i Te Reo Māori Language Gateway for all learners of Te Reo.
Te Puni Kokiri - the Government's principal adviser on Māori issues, their work aims to improve outcomes for Māori and ensure the quality of government services delivered to Māori.
Te Māngai Paho - a Crown Entity established to make funding available to the national network of Māori radio stations and for the production of Mäori language television programmes, music CDs and videos.
Te Kete Ipurangi - a bilingual portal-plus web community which provides quality assured educational material for teachers, school managers, and the wider education community. It is an initiative of the Ministry of Education.
The History of Māori Language - from nzhistory.net.nz - The History Group of New Zealand Ministry of Culture and Heritage has created this informative website which has details on Māori Language week and other information.
MEDIA
Irirangi.Net - a portal to Te Reo Māori radio broadcasting on the Internet. Browse the station websites, look at information provided by Te Mangai Paho and Te Whakaruruhau, read personal recollections about the Māori broadcasting story, or listen to the radio stations online.
Māori Television - Māori Television is bilingual. Programmes are in both Māori and English, they’re subtitled and there’s plenty for you to enjoy. Whether you’re young or old, Māori or non-Māori, tune in and be entertained and informed.
Taiohi - Taiohi is has all the korero and tools to help rangatahi make their dreams a reality including the magazine, the CD-ROM, and the Study Guide.
Tū Mai - a magazine publication reflective of the multi raced society, New Zealand has become.
The Māori Internet Society - Te Whānau Ipurangi's main purpose is to promote a strong Māori presence on the internet, and to lobby for internet administration in Aotearoa New Zealand to better accommodate Māori needs.
Mana Magazine - a national, bi-monthly, glossy magazine highlighting Māori issues and topics.
Huia - a multi-media communications business which supports Māori development, and thus the development of Aotearoa New Zealand, by promoting Māori people, Māori perspectives and Māori language.
Ko Ngā Kaitiaki ō ngā Taonga Whitiāhua - The Film Archive is Aotearoa’s moving image centre. Established in 1981 as an independent charitable trust, the Archive is overseen by a Board of Trustees representing film, archival, Māori and community interests.
AUT Te Reo Māori Course - Auckland - Busy, but want to learn to speak Te Reo Māori? Te Ara Poutama offers a unique opportunity for you to study the Māori language in the evening on a part-time basis. Held once a week, the programme is offered to passionate, hard working busy people.
Te Whanaki - One of the best Māori language learning sites in the world.
At this site you can learn how to say several words and phrases in hundreds of different languages. Jennifer's goal is to include every language, so that people will be able to say at least a few words to anyone they meet, anywhere in the world.
